A paedophile (who raped a 10 yr old) will be let free in just 4 months because the judge felt that the victim was "dressed provocatively"..!!! A 10 yr old..!!! The same judge, in February, set free another paedophile, telling him to pay the victim, money "to buy a new bicycle"...Is this some kind of a joke? How can such a stupid, insensitive, dumb asshole be even allowed to sit in on such a case?
Does "dressing provocatively" excuse raping a 10 yr old? In fact does it excuse raping anyone? If I did not lock my safe, does that mean that the thief is any less guilty, coz i "provoked" him to steal?? The above incident took place in London; one of the apparently "developed" nations.
These people seriously need to rethink their treatment of women and children. It's important to send out a message to all future culprits that their offense will not be treat lightly and to all the victims, that the State is with them. In some Arab countries, they chop off your hands or blind you, as punishment for rape/molestation/eve-teasing etc. Maybe London needs to take some tips from them...

If it's molestation of women you are talking about, the Arab nations are probably the last place on earth women would be safe.
Just try out one of the Jean Sasson novels - The Daughters of Arabia, Desert Royal or Princess. True stories all! I was so horrified when I read the first one. Was depressed for quite a few days after that!
But yes, it's shocking that people get away with such heinous crimes, and even more surprising that a legal system can allow something like that to happen!
I was only implying how harsh the legal system can be, if they choose to be so...
